Thank you for visiting! The Basilica of the Assumption parish exists to form joyful missionary disciples of Jesus Christ who transform hearts under the prayerful guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Join us!

We offer year-round RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), which means you don’t have to wait until the Fall to begin your journey home! Also, our Rector offers catechism class every Sunday after the 10:45 Mass. Come and immerse yourself in the Beauty and Truth of Catholicism.

Become Catholic

-Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith?
-Do you or does someone you know wish to become Catholic?
-Are you a baptized Catholic but have never been confirmed or received First Eucharist?
-Are you curious about some aspects of our faith or our tradition?

Then the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) might be for you! The RCIA is the process through which individuals are fully initiated into the Catholic Church.

We usually meet every Sunday evening from 6pm to 8pm in the Catholic Center, 320 Cathedral Street, diagonally across the street from the Basilica. Each session will focus on the beliefs of Christianity and Catholicism and are designed to give you the education and support you will need to make an informed decision to become Catholic. If you complete the program, you will be baptized/received into the Church at the Easter Vigil, the Saturday night before Easter.

If you are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian denomination, baptized Catholic without celebrating the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist, and if you are interested in becoming a member of, or completing your initiation into the Roman Catholic Church, please complete and submit the form below.
